I would like to express my appreciation for the excellent customer service that Layne and David provided to me when my computer had a problem recently.

They both tried to troubleshoot the problem on the phone with me without any luck.  However, Layne was at my door the next morning and fixed my computer and also my daughter's laptop.  Layne also installed some utilities and spyware to prevent the problem from happening again.

Layne and David are experts in computers and I would not let anyone else touch my computer.  In addition, they are the nicest two gentlemen I have met in a long time.

My name is Brian Gallagher.  I had the misfortune of a computer that died.  The worst part is that sitting next to the computer was a back up hard drive that I always planned on using.  Loosing all your data is one thing, but we had years of pictures on the computer that were priceless. 

After a quick Google search for computer repair in Olney MD I came up with Traveling Techs.  After reading a couple of good reviews I was quickly on the phone Dave who then scheduled an appointment later that day for Layne to stop by. 

Layne was on time and very knowledgeable about what had happened to my computer.  Layne made no promises on the recovery, telling me he would try as hard as he could.   

Fortunately Layne was able to recover all the data.  In addition, Layne came back on his own time to help my wife learn the new back up plan that Layne created. 

Overall, my experience was superb.  These guys are great!  I give a full recommendation to anyone looking for a computer tech.

I found Dave years ago when a home computer crashed on me. He offered the best price at the time and I went with him. He took care of everything, I was very happy with the results, and I was set fo a few years. Then when I needed a computer guy again I couldn't find his card. So back to square one I had to start calling around again. Once again though, I found my way back to Dave, because he was still the best price around.

Since then I've had Dave work on several jobs for both my home computers and the computers for our non-profit organization. I'm always happy with the work and the personal nature of the service. Dave is "my computer guy"!

We "stumbled" onto Dave thru an internet search when the frustration level from computer problems reached the boiling point.  Dave tried to work through the problems on the phone, but after a quickly scheduled visit, it turned out to be a hard drive that had gone bad.  Being novices as to computer hardware, we cringed when he suggested we replace it ourselves; but he instilled the confidence we needed - and we actually replaced not only the hard drive and reloaded programs, but also installed a new DVD drive! 

Therefore, when we recently had problems with an external back-up drive, there was no hesitation in calling Dave again.  He came by that very evening, and again - a bad drive (what are we doing to these things?!?!)  He quickly came up with an alternative back-up solution - and helped set up a second monitor to the laptop.  Now I'm having fun - and am more productive - with the capability of having email up on one screen and working on the other. 

We would not hesitate to recommend Dave to help anyone - especially those of us who are not that computer-savvy.  He is very personable, knowledgeable and prompt.  A geek? - no; A guru? - yes!!

I am a mother of three school age children in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and we cannot afford to be without our home PC; school projects, household budget etc. I had a very difficult time finding someone that has a trustworthy computer repair service when our PC crashed. I rely heavily on computer hardware in my business and in my personal life.  It is very disruptive when the hardware does not do what it is supposed to do. It is frustrating when you cannot find someone to diagnose and fix the problem. We have an IT guy at the office that I can use at will and, in the past, I have called on some well-know IT franchises when problems have arisen.  The results were generally unsatisfactory.........most of the time I am advised to buy a new computer.    

After a recent CD/DVD drive failure I attempted to get help from my usual sources. They either offered little assistance due to the age of the machine, or they offered to set up an appointment, within a half-day window, on some date in the distant future. Out of frustration I searched the web for consultants near my home. Luckily, I found Traveling Techs. 

When I contacted Traveling Techs, Dave responded immediately. We set up an appointment in the evening, at a specific time. He arrived on time, diagnosed the problem, discovered some other problems and offered to take the machine back to his office for some bench work. Dave explained that Traveling Techs can charge less for work done in their shop because they are able to multi-task there.  

Dave returned the computer the next day. It works better than it ever did. A few days later he returned with a new CD drive and installed that in the computer. Everything works. 

Now, I call Traveling Techs first when I have a computer question.  Their rates are reasonable. Their knowledge of computer hardware is outstanding. Their service is exemplary.
